By car from Pontremoli
From central Pontremoli, follow the direction of Grondola, then the signs for the Valle del Verde and Guinadi. The final section is short but narrower: slow down on bends, anticipate passing places and do not rely only on the time shown by your GPS.
Leave Pontremoli
Shop, withdraw cash and download an offline map before heading up. Services and mobile coverage become less reliable in the valley.
Follow Grondola
The road gradually enters the Valle del Verde. Leave room to stop, read signs and let downhill traffic pass.
Arrive in Guinadi
Park without blocking houses, garages or farm access. Discover the village on foot afterwards, with good shoes and no need to rush.
Without a car: train, then the final leg
Pontremoli station is on the Parma–La Spezia line. It is the right rail arrival point, but Guinadi is not a station destination: arrange a taxi, rental car or local contact for the final kilometres before travelling. Check train times and transport availability on the day.
